Bioreactor-Characterization Joint Research Associate

Platelet Biogenesis is seeking a self-motivated Research Associate to join the Characterization and Bioreactor teams. This person will work directly with the two teams to advance the millifluidic bioreactor and characterize the product. The candidate will plan and execute experiments utilizing human and mouse cells to optimize the production of platelets.

Platelet Biogenesis is seeking a self-motivated Research Associate to join the Characterization and Bioreactor teams.  This person will work directly with the two teams to advance the millifluidic bioreactor and characterize the product.  The candidate will plan and execute experiments utilizing human and mouse cells to optimize the production of platelets.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Closely collaborate with other members of the Characterization and Bioreactor teams
  • Proficient in cell culture, handling/culturing human and mouse progenitor cells
  • Execute differentiation experiments of primary culture cells
  • Execute millifluidic bioreactor experiments and analyze product
  • Develop and implement new processes that increase efficiency and ensure product quality

 

Qualifications

BS, MS or equivalent in biological sciences or related field

Ability to plan and execute experiments with attention to details and troubleshooting abilities

Relevant laboratory experience, in academic, pharmaceutical or biotechnology settings

Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and document experimental data

Familiarity with fundamental principles of fluid dynamics and transport phenomena

Proficient in multi-color flow cytometry and fluorescent microscopy

Highly motivated, comfortable at multitasking, excellent communication skills

Ability to effectively work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
