Senior Research Associate – Cell Biology

The successful Senior / Research Associate will join our characterization team to provide support for ongoing and emerging research projects designed to enhance the function of our platelets in hematological and solid tumor indications. The successful Senior / Research Associate will join our characterization team to provide support for ongoing and emerging research projects designed to enhance the function of our platelets in hematological and solid tumor indications. Opportunities to grow into more advanced oncology projects are abundant.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Because we are a startup, the position calls for duties that are broad and variable, with significant opportunity for advancement. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Independent contributions to the research team on multiple early discovery stage targets/programs within the Oncology Therapeutic area
  • Develop robust, cell-based assays to profile potency, cellular uptake, and
    mechanism of action of novel cell-based drug delivery systems (proliferation/survival, apoptosis, protein interactions, cell signaling)
  • Deliver high-quality biological assay data to Chemistry and Characterization groups to optimize lead molecules
  • Generate and maintain clear experimental notebooks
  • Organize and present experimental results to the team

 

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • BS/MS in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology
  • At least 3-5 years of lab experience (in vivo experience a plus)
  • Must be able to culture mammalian cells independently (adherent and
    suspension cell lines)
  • Experience with common cell/molecular biology techniques (Western Blot, RT-qPCR, proliferation/viability assays, cell uptake and microscopy)
  • Critical thinker with excellent problemā€solving skills with the ability to design experiments and interpret data
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well both in a team and
    independently
  • Flexible, hard-working, is capable of managing multiple complex projects at any given time, and can work under pressure to achieve development timelines
