Prior to founding Platelet BioGenesis, Jonathan was an Assistant Professor at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he retains an academic affiliation as a Lecturer. Platelet BioGenesis is making donor-independent human platelets from induced pluriopotent stem cells. Based on PBG’s potential impact, the company was featured by Discover Magazine as one of the Top 100 Stories of the year (#26), and has won numerous business awards.

Sven Karlsson, CFA, MBA

Chief Business Officer, Co-Founder


Sven has a decade of experience working across venture capital, business development, and finance. Prior to founding Platelet BioGenesis, Sven worked in Mergers & Acquisitions at J.P. Morgan, as an Analyst at a hedge fund, and as a Senior Manager of Investments at a venture fund. Sven received a B.S. in Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA with Distinction from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
